About Chandratal

Chandra Tal Holiday Packages

Chandertal, also known as Chandratal Lake, is a stunning high-altitude lake nestled in the Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh, India. Its name translates to "Moon Lake" due to its crescent shape. Situated at an altitude of about 4,300 meters (14,100 feet), this serene body of water is surrounded by majestic snow-capped peaks, offering breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere.

The lake is a popular destination for trekkers and nature enthusiasts who are drawn to its pristine beauty and the adventure of reaching such a remote location. The surrounding landscape with its meadows, barren mountains, and a diverse range of flora and fauna adds to the allure of Chandertal.

Visitors often camp near the lake to witness its enchanting beauty during sunrise and sunset, when the changing hues of the sky reflect off the crystal-clear waters. The area is usually accessible during the summer months, as heavy snowfall in winter makes it impassable.

Chandertal holds both natural beauty and spiritual significance, making it a cherished destination for those seeking serenity in the lap of the Himalayas.
