1. Key Monastery

If you are on a Kaza tour, you have to visit this beautiful monastery. Conceived in the 11th century, this Tibetan-Buddhist monastery is the largest in Spiti Valley. Its architecture is archaic, and the building is over a thousand years old carrying the history of millennia on its shoulders.

2. Chandratal Lake

Perched atop a height of 1400 m above sea level. Chandratal Lake is a camper's paradise located in the Spiti Valley. Ringing with the echoes of the Mahabharat folklore that surrounds it, the site glows with the beauty of a translucent water body.

3. Kunzum Pass

Located at an altitude of over 4,550 m, the Kunzum Pass is one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the country. Stationed in the eastern region of the Kunzum mountain range of Himalayas, the Pass offers a gateway into the beautiful Spiti Valley of Himachal.

4. Dhankar Lake

Dhankar Lake is located 21 kms away from Kaza and offers a mesmerizing view of pristine white water and splendiferous views.

5. Komic Village

While in Kaza, make sure to visit the Komic village, situated at a height of 4275 metres that is famous for its unusual possession of fossils.

How To Reach

By Air

You can reach Kaza by air through Manal and Shimla. The nearest airport to Manali is the Bhuntar airport. Once you arrive, you can hire buses and taxis to reach Kaza.

By Rail

The nearest railway station to Kaza is the Jogindernagar train station. It is about 350 km away from Kaza. You can easily hire cars and buses to travel to Kaza from there.

By Road

It takes around six hours to drive from Manali to Kaza. You can also drive to Kaza from Shimla through the Kinnaur route, which takes about ten hours.

Best Time To Take A Kaza Trip

Summer

The best time to visit Kaza is the summer season. The summer season lasts from May to October in the Spiti valley. The temperature during this time remains calm, and there is minimum precipitation in the form of snow, so it ideal for sight-seeing. It is the perfect time to take a Kaza trip as the weather is mostly clear during this period.

Winter

Winter in Kaza lasts from November to April. You can visit this place in the winters and experience the mesmerizing snowfall. Make sure you carry some heavy woolens to keep you warm during your journey.
