The Chand Baori is a stepwell which was built some thousand years ago. It is found in the Abhaneri village of Rajasthan. Popularly known as “Taj Mahal of Marwar”, Jaswant Thada was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in the year 1899 in memory of his father. It serves as the cremation ground for the royal rajput family of Marwar. It is operated and managed by Mehrangarh Museum Trust (MMT) and is open to the public to learn about the history of Marwar. The ground serves as the venue for music concerts during the music festivals like Rajasthan International Folk Festival and the World Sacred Spirit Festival.
