Dargah Sharif located right at the end of a desolate hill, the majestic tomb of Sufi saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti is one of India’s most prominent pilgrimage places which is visited by not only Muslims but also devotees of every faith. This Dargah was built in various stages, the gate with silver doors frames the entrance to the site.

Nareli Jain Temple is another Jain temple found on the corner of Ajmer. 7 km from the middle of the town, it is a beautiful marble temple with angular and strikingly appealing designs. The modern Nareli Temple is an impressive blend of traditional and modern days architectural styles with 24 miniature temples (Chaubisi) lined up on the hill above.

The Ana Sagar Lake is a magnificent artificial lake that is located in the city of Ajmer. The lake dries up every year in the summer season and is best visited during the sunsets when the views are extraordinarily marvellous to look at. The Daulat Bagh Gardens, located on the banks of the lake and the island in the centre of the lake is accessible by boat.

Soniji Ki Nasiyan, the religious site famous as the Red Temple, is a Jain temple dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara named Rishabh or Adinath. Its entrance is made of red stone and a marble staircase. The main attraction of the temple is the main chamber, known as the Swarna Nagari ‘’City of Gold’’, which had several gold-plated wooden figures.

Taragarh Fort is an enormous architecture, situated in the Bundi district of Ajmer. Its approx height is 1426 feet and features an interesting painting gallery. Best Time To Visit Ajmer

How To Reach Ajmer?

By Air

Approximately 135 km from Ajmer city, the Sanganer airport located in Jaipur is the nearest airport from Ajmer. There is another nearest airport, the Kishangarh Airport, which launched in October of 2016. Jaipur Airport is well-connected to major metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi. Once you reach at the Jaipur Airport, you can fare a cab in order to reach Ajmer; the journey will take around 2 or 3 hours.

By Train

The Ajmer Junction railways station lies on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Jaipur-Delhi line. The station is well-connected with major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Allahabad, Lucknow and Kolkata. Some of the more popular trains that run daily on the route are Ajmer Jan Shatabdi Express and Ajmer Rajdhani Express.

By Bus

Ajmer is well-connected by road as it is located on the Golden Quadrilateral National Highway 8, midway between Delhi and Mumbai. The Rajasthan State Transport Corporation runs deluxe and semi-deluxe buses (both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned) connecting Ajmer to nearby cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.
