Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently announced that most of the roads connecting the state's popular tourist destinations have been successfully repaired and are now safe for travel. The CM was speaking in Nadaun, where he extended a warm welcome to visitors, assuring them of safety in Chamba, Kangra, Shimla, Solan, and other parts of the state, as majority of the roads are open for vehicular traffic.

Incessant rains forced tourists to stay away from Himachal during the monsoon season as roads were blocked due to flood and landslides. In a statement, the chief minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to effectively address the aftermath of the disaster, emphasising that all affected families were being provided with financial assistance.
Meanwhile, in neighbouring Uttarakhand, the high court has asked for a tourism master plan for Doon Valley. The Uttarakhand High Court issued a directive to the state government, urging the preparation of a master plan and a tourism development plan for Doon Valley within four weeks. The court ordered the suspension of all commercial construction activities in the valley during this period. The decision was made in response to a public interest litigation (PIL) filed recently.
